3 Wholesome Events to Add an Extra Spring in Your Step

Wholesome. Such a trendy word. In any case, the word carries the same definition across generations-- more or less. Wholesome.  It relates back to something coming back to you-- or adding to a piece of the bigger picture alleviating some sort of void that is now filled.  Wholesome. An allusion to the idea that life is complete and we need no more. The ideas and expressions are different, but to everyone the feeling is the same.  Here are three different ways that we can find a piece of that feeling in our lives.

Youth Mindfulness

Being mindful isn’t a new concept. But it is continually becoming more and more of a difficult concept for younger generations to grasp.  What is usefulness and how can it be a concept if we can’t touch it? There is such a mental barrier when it comes to dealing with abstract concepts.  The Still We Rise Gala aims to tackle this problem and to bring the world of self-awareness and mindfulness to those in need.  Through speakers, live music, and hor d'oeuvres all these things will draw in the right crowd. Tickets are $90 to $125, and the event is on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 7:30 PM.  The event is, fittingly, at the Artscape Wychwood Barns in Toronto.

Earth Day

The earth is host to us, the human race.  And only once a year, we pay homage to the wonderful world we call home. Yes, of course, we should live on a daily tangent that Earth shall be revered all the time -- it simply is hard to do and even harder to remind ourselves of this.  Thankfully, to cover some of that guilt, the Toronto Botanical Garden will host an Earth Day event for you and the kids to learn more about how to take better care of the earth.  Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase, but feel free to bring your own mug and water bottle to reduce waste! The event is free, but registration is highly recommended. The event is on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Toronto Botanical Garden.

Run The World

An inexpensive event, but can leave a very high impact on all its attendees. This 3rd Annual Run the World Fashion Show & Night Market is one of the largest events put on by Zuri Curated Events.  The focus is all about women empowerment-- and to many out there: how much more wholesome can this get?  There are two features to the event. The night market puts the spotlight on over 60 local female-owned vendors who will be showing products, all fashion-related in some way. The second, and highlight feature is the fashion show itself.  Despite shape or size, all women are confident and powerful. Come to this event on Sunday April 28, 2019 at 5:00 PM to see some powerhouse women take the reigns and show you how to run the world. Tickets are $15 - $30.

With all three of these events happening in just a single weekend, it’s better to catch all three with one flight.  If you’re only in the area for a short while, take a peek at the rooms we have to offer at Best Western Plus Toronto Airport Hotel.  With a short shuttle over to each event, you’re sure to get the most out of your dollar with us.
