Dance, Laughter, Beer: Three Toronto Events to Keep You Warm

To some in Toronto, the holidays are a big deal. To others, the winter months are business as usual -- colder if anything, but usual. The one theme that runs across these three events in Toronto in December: they’ll keep you warm.

DJ Maestro

Hernan Cattaneo is known for his illustrative music that brings forth only one thing: euphoria.  The intense happiness and emotion that comes with his music will be sure to get you up and dancing and keep your body moving. You’ll soon forget that you’re in the middle of Toronto, in the middle of a cold Canadian Winter. Catch Cattaneo at The Opera House on Friday December 14, 2018. His set starts at 10 PM, and he’ll be there all night.  Nothing better to do in Toronto than enjoy the nightlife!

Comedy Carol

If you are looking for something familiar, but also nonsensical, but also wildly hilarious then the Christmas Carol Comedy is exactly for you. Playing from November 23 to December 30, you’ve got plenty to time to pick a date, a showtime, and get your butt in the seat for an evening of laughter.  There’s nothing better than engaging your abdominal muscles to keep your body warm and working. Tickets are only in a range of $20 to $30 (popcorn not included, but that’s okay!), but for that much you get comedy for all ages in the family. Showtimes vary, but all shows are at the Wychwood Theatre.

Brewery Tours

Dancing not your thing? No sense of humour? That’s okay. You probably (hopefully) like beer.  Big Rock Brewery holds tours and tastings every Saturday from 4 PM to 5 PM.  Catch the closest one to Christmas on Saturday December 22, 2018.  This is a great option if it means getting away for a big for just a sip of the local beer, or to de-stress from seeing all the family and all the exhausting travel.  Tickets are $10, and you get an hour of tours and tasty beer -- can’t go wrong there.

Whether you’re in the Toronto area for the holidays to visit family or just for work, the “travel” part of “travelling” is nothing short of exhausting. Staying in a hotel close to the airport during this time of the year is probably your best bet. Thankfully, the Best Western Plus Toronto Airport Hotel is right by the airport, making it easy for you (and perhaps your family) to get to and from the airport. Conveniently, the hotel is also located closely to the greater part of the Toronto area, making travel to the downtown core just minutes away.
