Three Ways to Explore More Than Just The Holidays

With November coming and December right on its tail, there are already hints of holiday spirit in the air.  And for many folks, the holidays will just come and go. But for a place like Toronto, many people do get into the spirit, but the hustle and bustle of the city won’t slow down. But we should stop and pay attention to the great upcoming events that will bring joy and fun if only for a moment.

Aurora Winter Festival

Torontonians do know how to celebrate the holidays in their own unique way. Toronto does it big when the Aurora Winter Festival opens and Ontario Place is transformed into Canada's largest winter festival. Starting on November 22, 2019, to January 5, 2020, you can get tickets to this magical winter wonderland. Tickets range from $13 to $20 and admission will include: an outdoor ice-skating pond, a crafts area for children, a Ferris wheel, a carousel, and other rides, and a Christmas market.  This all-ages event is perfect for the whole family.

Black Holes: From Speculative to Spectacular

This one takes a bit of a turn; black holes are not necessarily what comes to mind during the cold winter months. However, it's always fun to learn new things. Recent discoveries have brought black holes to the forefront of science.  On Sunday, November 24, 2019, make your way over to the JJR Macleod Auditorium Medical Science Building to see a fascinating presentation about black holes.  Their immense gravitational pull is enough to bend and even consume light.  At this event, the speakers will explore whether black holes are as monstrous as they are portrayed in the media or are they just simply misunderstood.  Admission is free.

Canada Job Expo

With the year ending and a new one right around the corner, a lot of folks might be searching for new jobs and careers.  On November 28, 2019, the timing could not be better. This day at the Metro Hall - Toronto, the Canada Job Expo will have an army of employers on the lookout for their next employees. Previous job expos included high profile employers such as Rogers Communications, Labatt Breweries, Public Services, and employers from other provinces.  The opportunities are endless. Come prepared with copies of your resume, cover letter, and your best game face!
